Professional preparation tip
Prepare porridge with the spurtle
In Scotland, the place of origin of porridge, a special kitchen utensil called a “spurtle” has been used since the 15th century for the ideal preparation of the basic porridge recipe. A spurtle is a wooden stirring stick to which the rather sticky porridge does not stick.
With the Spurtle you can ideally stir your porridge in a small pot during preparation - without your porridge clumping together. Because the most important thing when preparing porridge without lumps is: Stir, stir, stir.
It's best to stir constantly with the spurtle when preparing your porridge so that the natural ingredients become a creamy porridge. You can find more information about the Spurtle porridge stirrer in this video.
Versatile porridge preparation with
Pot, microwave and kettle
You can prepare your porridge in different ways: in a pot, in the microwave or with the kettle. To prepare it in a pot, heat 50 g of oat flakes with 120 ml of milk or plant-based drink for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
To prepare in the microwave, put oat flakes or the Verival porridge mixture in a bowl with milk, plant drink or water and heat the mixture at 800 watts for 60 seconds.
If you're in a hurry, simply pour hot water from the kettle over the mixture and let it steep for 3 minutes.
So you have a healthy, warm breakfast in no time. You can find more tips for preparation in this video!
